Pluktuin van Geesje: a healing picking garden
Digging, thinning flower buds, hoeing, mowing and feeding animals are some examples of work that are experienced as meditative and soothing.
who are they?
In early 2019, Geesje’s picking garden started to develop a plan to create a landscape orchard with a wide variety of fruit trees and hazel bushes in the Geestmerambacht recreational area. The idea arose from a deep desire to contribute to positive health care and a better environment by stimulating social awareness and involvement in food production.
aim
The realization of a biodynamic fruit-picking garden where care and meaningful work for people with mental disabilities will form an essential part of the process. The picking garden is also a place where scientific research in the field of anthroposophical agriculture and care can be implemented.
