We assume that human-earth-spirit are inseparably connected and that every person and humanity as a whole is developing. We regard the Iona Foundation as a living being and the work we do together with donors and initiators as a path of learning. We think artistic work is important and are aware of the spiritual world that is at work.

At the Iona Foundation there is no external mandate for the work: we operate according to the statutes, which allows us the freedom to choose and work based on our intentions. With that in mind, we freely decide what and how we support and (undertake) initiatives. We feel responsible for serving the essence of the Iona Foundation and letting its intentions play their guiding role.

Fields of Work

The statutes state that the Iona Foundation aims to promote spiritual, cultural, and social development by facilitating, supporting, and enabling developments. It focuses on initiatives of general benefit, particularly on:

Making agriculture, food chains, nature, and the economy more sustainable

human

Development of inspired, human healthcare and education: initiatives and research & development

human

New social connections, contemporary social fabric in which people and their environment connect both inwardly and outwardly; sense of community

spirit

Supporting art/artists with social engagement and artistic ways of working & living. Also in relation to nature and religion, the higher.

In addition, we especially want to support and encourage initiatives where the areas of agriculture/nature/food, art, education, and/or healthcare intertwine and develop together so that new social fabric is created.

Mission

We encourage and take initiatives and collaborate with donors, pioneers, and other practical idealists. Based on the statutes, we roughly distinguish the following activities:
