November 24: dialogue about child and nature
In conversation with educational pedagogue Dieuwke Hovinga at the Novalis College in Eindhoven
[Please be aware: this evening will be in Dutch]
Educational pedagogue and researcher Dieuwke Hovinga will discuss the importance of nature for the development of children on November 24. As a former lecturer in Nature and Child Development (2011-2025) at the Hogeschool Leiden and the Thomas More University of Applied Sciences in Rotterdam, she has created an active research community around Nature-Inclusive Education.
The Iona Foundation strives for education in which the growing human being can develop as a thinking, feeling, and practical being in and with the world. Education with the aim that children develop in such a way that they help shape the world of tomorrow. In this, education is asked to rethink and act anew. A renewed and strengthened awareness that humans and nature are inextricably linked and that all life is inextricably intertwined is guiding in this.
